The Recruiting Process
6 Simple Steps

Step 1
Reach Out To Red Devil Coaches
Our coaches are ready and able to help! Each of our coaches is well-versed in the recruiting process as many of them were collegiate athletes themselves or have helped hundreds of athletes get into programs that match their academic interests and athletic talents. Check with your current coach or Coach Olive to get 1:1 guidance on how the process will work for your athlete.

Step 2
Register for NCAA CERTFICATION ACCOUNT
If your athlete is considering Division I or Division II programs need to create a Certification Account through the NCAA Eligibility Center. You will be issued a certification number that allows you to make official visits to DI and DII schools or to sign a National Letter of Intent. If you are considering a Divison III program or undecided, you can register for a free profile page and acquire a NCAA ID.

Step 3
Create your recruiting profile
As a high school athlete with Red Devil Lacrosse you are provided full access to IMLCARecruits, powered by SportsRecruits. Student-athletes should make sure that their IMLCARecruits recruiting profile is complete and up to date so that coaches can learn more about them, both academically and athletically. After completing your recruiting profile, start researching schools to create a list that’s right for you and introduce yourself to college coaches!

Step 4
Upload Your Video to create your highlight video
If you want to be recruited as a collegiate athlete, having video available for coaches to view is crucial to your recruiting process. College coaches, now more than ever, want to be able to recruit from the comfort of their own home or office. Therefore, having video on your profile will make it that much easier for college coaches to properly evaluate you. There are several types of video you should upload, including but not limited to raw game footage and highlight reels.

Step 5
Communicate with College Coaches
After you have identified a school that interests you, send an email to a college coach to let them know that you are interested in their program. Tell them a little bit about yourself, with your completed athlete profile and highlight video. NCAA DI College Coaches have restrictions and can't engage in conversations with you until September 1st of your Junior year of high school. However, it’s best to introduce yourself well before to increase your chances of being contacted during the fall of Junior year!

Step 6
Attend Prospect camps, Combines, Tournaments and Showcase events
Sports camps, combines, tournaments and showcases are an important way to gain experience as well as exposure to college coaches. These are opportunities for coaches to evaluate a group of players at one time. The more chances they have to evaluate a player in different settings, the greater likelihood they will recruit them. These types of events are critical for being recruited, but they can be costly and time consuming. Your coach can advise which opportunities might be the best fit for your skills and interest.
